Question valve seals on 3.1

1995 Pontiac Trans Sport automatic and 3.1 engine.

I am doing a valve stem replacement on my van, I purchased Fel-pro valve stem kit. I'm confuse, I have 12 band seals, and 6 "cup" valve seals. I thought the whole head set need all 12 cup valve seals. If not, which does it go on, Exhaust or Intake?

Thank you for your time.

Re: valve seals on 3.1

looking from the exploded diagram from Gm manual, looks like "cup" seals are used on the exhaust valve. manual calls them oil shedders, look like they go on top of valve spring, below the valve cap. It does not, however, show any band seals on the exhaust valve, but rather just the intake.
"O" rings used on all valves. Hope the helps rather than confuses.
