98 intrepid keeps losing charge
i have a 98 intrepid es with a 3.2 and the battery keeps going dead. it has a new battery, new alt there is no visable short of any kind. if i charge the battery and keep driving it all day its fine but if i let it sit more than 12 hours it goes dead. i have checked all the grounds and even pulled every bulb in the car to make sure they arent drawing power. im at a complete loss any help would be great thank you

Did this happen before the new battery was installed? IMO make sure the battery actually holds a charge. Disconnect the battery overnight, and see if it still has power to start the car the next morning.
If the battery holds a charge, imo look first at the starter motor and soleniod. If you have an electrical tester, you can see if they are drawing power when the car is switched off. If no power is drawn by the starter, try removing all fuses and relays, one by one and see when the electical draw stops, so you can at least isolate the faulty circuit. |
