dual exhaust options?? 01 1500hd 6.0L!
hey dudes, i need some options for my exhaust, 2001 gmc sierra 1500hd 6.0 v8 crew cab, short box i believe. All i have found is a gibson system, btw are those any good? i want a very aggresive sound but now overbearing. i looked for a magnaflow, but they have nothing, unless i go with the univeral hot rod system, and that an ass load of work/welding. Anyone know of a good system, hopefully a catback bolt on?

Re: dual exhaust options?? 01 1500hd 6.0L!
I myself am a Flowmaster fan. I have a 2000 2WD Sierra with a 4.8L, with cold air intake and a flowmaster 40 series. The 40 series flowmaster will be an aggressive tone outside, but quieter inside. Put a stainless tip to top it off, and you won't need duals. Mine is a single and it sounds deep and throaty. If you do decide to go with a flowmaster, make sure the muffler says flowmaster. I've heard of shops ripping people off by selling them a flowmaster and putting on something else. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Re: dual exhaust options?? 01 1500hd 6.0L!
I own an exhaust shop and the flowmasters don't out perform the magnaflow's. Plus they don't have a lifetime warranty and rust out in 3 years. I installed a dual 3" in and single 3" out magnaflow and it sounds great and runs top notch. Do not remove the cats!!! These are highly expensive and the converter system is already 3"... Pluleeeaase do not remove the cats, they are already high flow and run great with little backpressure. Otherwise, if you remove them, you will be upset at the replacement cost of these cats. Even magnaflow high flow cats do not compare to the factory cats on our trucks. (mine is a 2003 gmc sierra 1500hd witht he 6.o liter)
