Stillen Header
I just ordered the Stillen header. How hard of an install is it, seems like it should be pretty easy. Has anyone had any problems? How much of a power gain can I expect. They say 10 - 15 at the wheels. Also, Hotshot claimed a gain in the 2000 - 4000 range with their header, Stillen says theres is best in the 4000 - 7200 range. Any comments or experience? Ive been increasing my mid range power band but I would like to see an increase in the lower end without rebuilding the engine. Is this possible, I know it can be done with nitrous but that is a little extreme for everyday driving.

Re: Stillen Header

You will get gains with your Stillen header. They are overstating their performance however. SCC did a test of all available SR20 headers a while back. I don't believe the Stillen out performed the HS in any area. For sure the HS header is the overall best header for the SR20. Stillen is well known for inflated hp claims. I'd guess you will get closer to 10 hp. I think only the HS and AEBS headers were around the 15 hp range. If you want to boost midrange power, I suggest UR underdrive pulleys and JWT S3 cams.

Check out ser.net for info on headers for the SR20. You already have a CAI and your timing is advanced to 17.There is not much else you can do to significantly boost your low to mid-range power without increasing your compression .
What is the mileage on your engine, sometimes a small ring and bearing job is the best performance improvement you can make |

I have the Stillen headers and its not that much horsepower at all....more like half that....anyways...The overall design of the headers are different from HS and Stillen...I believe Stillen is 4 to 1 collector and the HS is 4-2-1....and this will give you different hp readings throughout the power band....Correct me if I'm wrong...
