05 Express 3500 6.0L hesitation, turn signal
05 Express 3500, 6.0L hesitation, transmission issue, also turn signal issue. Hi All, I am experiencing hesitation when I pull away from a stop. If you could imagine pressing the gas and the rear tire was sitting on a stone and the tire begins to spin and then catches...that's kind of how it feels. After it catches it is fine. Second issue, the left front turn signal bulb loses connection. This bulb is the push in type (snaps in place) unlike the old bulb that pushed in and turned. Is there an idea to know how to correct this?

Re: 05 Express 3500 6.0L hesitation, turn signal
Welcome to AF
On the transmission it needs to be put on a transmission capable scanner and checked out. Check for codes and transmission shift adptives and slippage and shift time. If any codes post back codes. How is the fluid and fluid level? How many miles on it? Transmission ever been serviced? On the bulb make sure it has good power to it and good ground. And bulb is good. Clean the pushin socket and spread the bulb wires out a little. If all else fails replace the bulb socket and bulb. Let us know on transmission codes.

Re: 05 Express 3500 6.0L hesitation, turn signal
Thanks for the reply. I checked the transmission fluid today and it was not on the dipstick. I bought a quart of Castrol Dextron (for GM) and will put it in and report back. I also bought a pack of 3057 bulbs for the left rear turn signal just in case when I take the taillight off I can check the socket and replace the bulb if needed. Thanks again.

You bought the wrong type fluid.
Check your owners manual. It should be the GM type IV fluid. If it is not showing on the dip stick you may have already burnt it up. Check things out on it. But get it full of the right fluid and start looking for that leak.

Re: 05 Express 3500 6.0L hesitation, turn signal
Thanks. I replaced the bulb in the LR turn signal. That worked perfectly. I added the quart before I read this and it seems to be doing better. It has 89K on it now and I will have the transmission serviced before it becomes a problem. There was no smell of burnt fluid but the one quart did not show up on the dipstick either. I forgot to mention that the engine was changed last week, runs fine now but I suspect that the transmission fluid was spilled during the transition.

Re: 05 Express 3500 6.0L hesitation, turn signal
If it did not show on dipstick it was more than 1 qt. low.
You need to get it full of fluid before you drive it. And use the right type fluid. If you drive it low or out of fluid yo can burn it up in les than 5-10 miunutes. A few qt.'s of fluid is a lot cheaper than a transmission. Good Luck
