Audio Crossovers

Agh! Everytime I go to do something on my car there is something always holding me back. Well I have some infinity kappa component speakers. They did not come with the crossovers,I took it to a shop and they say they can't install them without the crossovers because everything will blow. They are in custom kick panels . I need to know If this is true AND If I can use anykind of crossovers for them??

Re: Audio Crossovers

it is true that you need the crossovers with them - you could put a different crossover on em, or just on your tweeters

Re: Audio Crossovers

Hey ya, well I got the pods installed. I just purchased some Stinger Bass Blocks. Audio shop said they would basically do the same thing. Al I have to do is wire up my new amp and the speakers in the pods. But I do have another question. Shop guy said I need to return all that power back to the chasis so that I don't run my battery dead. I got 2 amps. 1 for my subs running on 4 gauge and 1 for my kick panels running 8 gauge. He gave me a 0 gauge to connect to my - battery terminal bolt and said connect it to the closest bolt. So I went to the shop to get a terminal for the 0 gauge and they told me 0gauge is too much and to stick with the 4 gauge. Can I just use the 0 gauge??

Re: Audio Crossovers

they are NOT needed. Do they work? yes....

You have audio controls on your deck for a reason, keep the bass out of the component speakers and in your subs. End of story...

I have on my front speakers only because I got em free and I don't feel like taking door panels on and off. Not one of my fav things to do.

Re: Audio Crossovers

Hey Classic, ever since I had these pods put in it seems my RF subs aren't pumping out any bass hardly. My JVC head unit use to go to a max. Volume of 50 but is now only 30. The shop guy went into my headunit settings and fixed everything the way he want's it and now the door panels and pods are TOO loud..like a piercing sound and no bass in the back. If I reset my head unit will the max volume go back to it's orginal settings aswell as his settings he did?

Thanks

Re: Audio Crossovers

yep, when you loose power everything will be reset.

I would have just tuned everything yourself.
