Which turbo timer to get..

I have my whole center council out from putting in the eprom for dsmlink and I am considering getting a turbo timer as long as all the guts are exposed.

What turbo timer is trusted and overall good on price/reliability??

How hard is the install of one?

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

i have a blitz, and i love it. it can run seperate timers, give quarter mile and 0-60 times, has a peak speed recorder, and i think a peak rpm recorder. also a speed warning sensor, and all kinds of safter features to keep your car from being stolen, like steering wheel lock, e brake sensor, and i think a couple others

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

I got the HKS Type 1 I think. Does a whole bunch of shit to. 1/4 times, 0-60ft 0-60mph, shift light, speed warning, peak speed/rpms. And it will pick up driving habits and idle car according to how hard you drove it. You dont need a turbo timer on a water cooled turbo though.

They aren't hard at all to install. But the ones with more features have more wires to connect.

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

Pretty much all MHI turbos. Your 16g is capable of it also, whether or not the water lines are hooked up is a different story. I run a turbo timer because I didn't run water lines to my turbo so its only oil cooler. So it needs to idle for a little while before shutting the car off.

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

What about ebay turbo timers? Are they decent?

Can you use them with like the greddy or hks wiring harness?

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

I have heard that the ebay ones are just as good. They are just a basic timer with out all the other functions. I think all harnesses are the same anyways bc they just plug into the factory harness and have wires coming from them.

Re: Which turbo timer to get..

So like, you can get any turbo timer and then separately get the wiring harness and the turbo timers all work with the hks or greddy harness?

Yes that should be right. You may have to alter the harness a little but it should keep you from having to hack up the stock wiring.

Send me 100 dollars and I'll tell you how to make the dopest turbo timing system you've ever seen...

...nah, I'll do it for free. When you stop the car, sit in it for a minute or three depending on how hard you were driving.

There. Paypal donations accepted.

uhh not really. Thats pretty much the purpose of a turbo timer. Sure some can do 1/4 mile times and all that stuff but so can a lot of other things.
