gtp first kill

well i finally got my hands on the gtp i wanted so me and my dad went up the road to run last night. he has a 91 trans am,auto,305 tpi, bored .030,cai,flowmaster exhaust,4.10 gears. ive got a 98 grand prix gtp, borla catback, cai.
well we got side by side and took off at 3 blows of the horn.me and him both spun pretty bad out of the hole.i hooked up late in first so did he.then i just started to pull on him ,pretty badly.by the end of the quarter he was about 4 1/2 maybe 5 car lengths back.i coulda beat him by more if i was familiar with the car and hadnt spun.we ran again from a 10mph roll and he jumped me about half a car then i pulled on him fast so we just let off around 70.well just wanted to share my first gtp kill with everyone.

Re: gtp first kill

305 autos are dogs. That's like bragging about beating a civic or a nonturbo eclipse.

Good kill though, you have a large ceiling to open up to.

Re: gtp first kill

Gotta start somewhere. My first kill was against a bone stock V6 Mustang in a slightly less bone stock Rav4. Good kill.

Re: gtp first kill

Nice. I love those GTP's man. Always have and always will. The only reason I wont get one is because of the interior. Dont like it and never will. Hmm.... Good kill and work on that GTP man.

Its like the C5 Z06. I was looking at one a while back, gently used, had a Borla exhaust and low miles, I think it was around 22k. They only wanted $33k for it, trying to get rid of it because he needed space in the garage for the new C6 Zed he just picked up. I was really tempted to get it, but half the reason I didn't was I just couldn't justify spending that much money on a car with the same interior as a Cavalier.

Re: gtp first kill

Nice kill!!!

I used to have a 92 conv. RS w/ the 305 and my GTP stock was alot quicker.

Forget that CAI your just sucking in hot ait. Build yourself a FWI (fenderwell intake) it dont cost shit and its alot better.

GTP's are easy to mod. You can be driving a 12 second daily driver with just a couple grand.

Good luck and happy modding...

Re: gtp first kill

Yeah but the thing you should do is maybe upgrade the torque converter and (if you can) fortify the transmission if you plan on reaching those 12's
