locate plug to disengage tcc in 91 corsica
having the all common problem of down shifting after high speed and slowing to a stop and stall. can't seem to locate the right plug for the tcc to dis connect. look under the air cleaner and found four pronged plug in front of carb but unplugged and idle went real high. so plugged back in. check around the tranny and can't seem to locate. is it a special color? special area? type of plug? care runs great other than that and i would like to get this unplugged. seems it does the trick. thanks should mention its a 2.2 4 cylinder.

Re: locate plug to disengage tcc in 91 corsica
On a 2.2 you should not have to remove anything. The TCC is in the same location for most all Corsicas but on some 3.1 6 cylinders it is easier to get to under the air filter. On yours look at the right side of your engine, look down on top of the transaxle(transmission). It is on the top, and is a square 4 prong plug. Remove it and you should be fine except you will lose some mpg. If your idle does not get back to normal you might want to unhook your battery and reset the idle. Might be OK as it is though.
