rsx-s vs taurus sho
these tauruses are no joke. it's a friend of mine from work, 5 in the morning on the way to work. he rolls up next to me and starts revving at a red light. we take off, he has me until about 2nd gear when my vtec kicks in. i get him by about a half a car length and i hear his tranny slip, thats it, i pull ahead. keep in mind, this was an auto taurus, he says he gets about 213hp at the flywheel, my rsx-s is stock, until tomorrow when i install my injen.

Vtec does not kick for the umpteenth time it only nudges !
HOW THE HELL DO YOU DESCRIBE A TURBO IF A VTEC IS A KICK THEN A TURBO MUST BE A ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE That does not kick whatsoever THIS KICKS and this does too cuz this is what you are

tomato's tomata's potato's potata's. this is about as significant as your post was. it's a question of semantics, i say it kicks in, you say it nudges.

did you ever drive an integra vtec or a prelude vtec, they kick in, u can literally feel the "bang", the rsx is smoother. if you had you'd know. and i've driven alot of turbos, you act like a turbo will blast you into outer space, this is not the case my friend. even in a 911 or a twin turbo z, the "kick" isn't really that significant, now when i floor my 351 in my '69, thats a kick.

You are dumber because it is a power change. Also it is not V-tec it is VTEC. VTEC keeps the Horse power on the Dyno from flating out in a lower RPM range. That is why a VTEC cam shaft has 3 lobes per section. When VTEC turns on it kicks on the third lobe.

lol thank you "vtec isn't a power add" lol what a fool, it's as much a power add as a turbo is....i love it when people come on who don't know what they're talking about people like julian trip me out. just compare the old vtec to the old non vtec and to the new ivtec. hence..power add.

no it isnt smart guy a power adder is classified as a turbo, supercharger or nitrous. By your definition, intake is a power adder.

lol ok lets break this down into the a, b, c's lol
if you ADD 2 to 1 u increase the value now if you ADD an intake that ADDS 12 HP that means you increase the value thus any of those things aforementioned are....power adders. wow i love this

you really should stop posting. In drag racing, if your car is all motor, you have no power adders, REGARDLESS of the bolt-ons. ALLMOTOR MEANS NO NITROUS, TURBO, OR SUPERCHARGER. do i have to spell it out for you some more or are you gonna keep making yourself look stupid?
Itsmeek, if you dont know shit about cars, its better to keep your mouth shut, so you can learn something someday. I know its a long shot but bear with me. can somebody back me up on this? AGAIN, THE TERM POWER ADDER REFERS TO A TURBO, NITROUS OR A SUPERCHARGER. im now accepting apologies |

maybe if you looked at things under a perspective that isnt smug and misinformed, and eager to make people look stupid, you wont end up looking stupid yourself

Noob,
The term "Power-adder" is generally reserved for when someone is talking about adding nitrous, adding a supercharger, or adding a turbo or two. Everything else is considered a bolt-on, aftermarket part. Let's be honest, no one gives a crap about the rated horsepower for a part, because unless you car is totally built, it's not going to give you the rated hp. They may add power, but they're not in the same league as the others. Hope you enjoy your stay.
