Several 1992 Oldsmobile Regency 98 Questions Plz Help
ok, 1st i beleieve i have a crank sensor issue, thanks to all the info ive read on these forums, ive narrowed it down and will be changing it soon.it does the typical random stall, random start/wont start issue. the previous owner told me he believed it to be the crank sensor as well.
but the issue i havent figured out yet on this car is the heater/ac . the blower motor works, on the bench but not in the car. i am getting nothing out of the controls. i can hear the vents click very queitly when hitting the buttons, but cannot get the blower to work or anything else to respond for that matter. when cruising down the road it barely bleeds heat out. i have heard something about a module, and need info on where it is and what to do. also, just today, the automatic trunk motor/doo-dad quit pulling the trunk closed. this happened out of no-where with no warning. im tryin to get this car in shape for re-sale, and want to make sure the next guy has no troubles. thanks for any help in advance !! Welcome to AF. blower module is under the hood on the top of evap case, r/s. Please refrain from any attempts to sell in the open forum, we have a seperate area for that. See classified area at top of forums. I will be editing that portion of your post.

The dead trunk pull-down motor is pretty common. You might try a junkyard motor, but no telling if it is near death either. But...as long as it works when you sell it then it doesn't matter (but you could be nice and tell them that if it dies again, trying to slam the trunk shut is a bad idea).
Otherwise, the crank sensor does sound at fault. And Maxwedge told ya where the module is. If you need anything else, just ask

Re: Several 1992 Oldsmobile Regency 98 Questions Plz Help
My 1989 Olds 98 Regency trunk closer motor burned up about 5 years ago, along with my power antenna motor.
The antenna? I just pulled it up manually and that's where it's been ever since. The trunk closer-motor? I removed the motor, manually screwed the "pulling" portion to its lowest point, and I've used it as a manual trunk ever since. No one would ever know that this trunk used to close with a motor...unless they've owned one of these before. I know, I know, it's not a good way to maintain the vehicle. But at some point the cost of these little motors is just not worth it anymore in an 18 year old car. |
