egr system
just making sure - i checked my fsm and it didn't really explain it for me but i did get a general idea.
exhaust - curved pipe - egr valve - intake i've been having some overheating going on lately and my egr valve isn't complete so its time to do the last step in my neverending quest to return this engine to stock and end the overheating.. i didn't have the materials after my swap to finish it.. but now i need to get it done because the mighty old emissions test is coming up.. thanks guys

Re: egr system
yup, I welded the bend tube from the exhaust manifold shut, removed the egr, and cut out a steel piece to bolt up the intake manifold side. (egr to the intake manifold)

Oh and I put a gasket in between the steel and intake manifold.

Re: egr system
On cold cold cold mornings I sometimes get hard start ups lol
Probably not gonna feel much haha, but your engine will be happier because the intake manifold will be cleaner =)

Re: egr system
well one way to do it is turbo your car
my turbo mani doesnt have a bung and my downpipe only has the O2 bung. and i got a blockoff plate and a gasket for the intake side. but yeah the order is correct.

Re: egr system
i put a quarter in mine (it fit perfect) and then put a plug in on the exhaust side. For the intake side i made a block off plate.

Re: egr system
i can still get 500km/tank so i don't think the mileage is any different.. the only real difference i think is the emissions.. no hp difference for sure

Re: egr system
nah the emissions systems on modern cars dont take any hp away. even the cats on n/a cars dont restrict flow really at all.

Re: egr system
after looking at my fsm, it seems as though it has to do primarily with emissions but is also activated at idle and when coolant temp is really high. its not just that simple but those are the basics as far as i know.

Re: egr system
EGR is use to prevent NOx U get NOx from high combustion chamber heat. U mostly need the egr system to past the visual inspection of the emisions. egr only works at idle and steady cruse.
