87 944 turbo starting problem

We have a 944 turbo. 1987.

We have a starting problem. It will start right away the first time. It will idle, drive no probs as if there isn't a problem.
But if we shut it off, it will not restart. It will just turn over but not fire.

If we let it sit for 20 minutes, it will then refire no problem.

We can let it sit and idel for hours or let it idle for 20 seconds, it will happen every time.

We have checked the relays, they are fine.

The car does have a hotwire kit installed.

Any ideas?

Brian

Re: 87 944 turbo starting problem

well, we were able to figure it out. Of all things, it was the starter. Weird. Al thought the starter worked fine and performed as it should, we changed it and sure enough, it cleared the problem.
I have no clue how would cause this problem since it would start it once and a while.

ANyways, hope this helps someone out in the future.
