I was trying to figure out how to disable the daytime running lamps too, but I haven't had any luck. I guess thats the reason why their called "daytime" lamps.

One Option On Turning Off DTR lights

If the vehicle is running and you're parked and want the DTR lights off you can simply pull up on the parking brake. Obviously this method won't work to turn them off when you're driving- but due to the safety statistics I'm not sure why anyone would want them off while driving- they're on for a reason- they save lives

Hello, In my 91 civic I did not like the daytime lights, so in the fuse box I removed the fuse for daytime lights.

There is a wire formation you have to disconnect at the parking brake. Take off the center console and there you will find the wiring, and then you have to disconnect it from there... (or you can just pull your e-brake up 1 notch and that will turn it off too) Don't attempt till you've used your e-brake a lot...

Ok,

Heres the real fix.

On the dash there is a light sensor the turns them off/on. Just pry it up gently with small screwdriver and unplug the sensor.

The answers to all your problems.

it is located more up towards the windshield on the passenger side i believe. Looks like a small little circle. About the size of a quarter id say.

Because it burns the bulbs all the time hastening their demise and its a drag on the alternator, forcing it to put out more amps each time the motor is running. That makes the alternator run hotter and burn out quicker.
Plus, its another plan from the government to save us from ourselves.

Would'nt you think Suzuki would design the altenator to handel the options that the car is equiped with?

i believe that should be a fuse for the DRL. I need to go refresh my memory of one. My wife has an aerio and i should be able to find out for ya sometime soon. Umm, yah, it's fucked up that suzuki can't have an alternator that can handle the stuff it has in it, but just a question, anyone of yall have installed a system in your car. If so help me. hehehe, l8ters

to make a reply to several of the posts made so far.

There is no sensor to turn on these lights. They are on 100% of the time, the sensor would be to turn off the DRL and turn on the headlights, this car has no sensor, to move to headlights it's a manual sorta thing.

Secondly, the Aerio's alternator can handle the stock setups load without any problems. If you have added a very large audio system, then you might experience some problems. I know I've added a 400w amp and my DRLs dim a little at idle.
