Going to look at a 92 APV tomorrow.
Saw an ad for a 92 APV. The ad didn't say much, but this van apparently has the 3.8 and has new tierods, balljoints, wheel bearings, brakes and other things. The person is asking $800 OBO. What do you think? Are the 3.8's a good motor? I read somewhere that the 3.8's may have problems with the intake manifold gasket. Is that a problem on a 92? What kind of fuel mileage do these get? Can they handle a full load of people without struggling? How hard are the seats to remove? So on so forth..I'd be interested in hearing from people who own one of these vans, to see how they rate them.

Re: Going to look at a 92 APV tomorrow.
The things that normally go wrong, hubs, tie rods, etc... have already been done. The 92-95 VIN-L 3800's weren't plagued with the intake issues of the late-95 up VIN-K 3800's. As far as power, the 3800 should get you where you need to go, even with a load. The seats are pretty simple to remove, although a little heavy for a small woman to handle alone. For $800, if it's in any kind of shape, grab it.
