hare scrambles
i am looking to start racing in hare scrambles over here in nc and i am wondering what equipment is required to race. i tried contacting the race officals but i didn't get a reply. Does anyone know what is required. I know a helmet is but what about a chest protector or kidney belt or shin guards etc. Also where could i find these things for pretty cheap.

Re: hare scrambles
It really depends where you go to do them. I love hairscrambles. Where I ride they require helmet and that is it. Although it would be very well advised to wear a chest protectore, motorcyle boots, hand guards on your bike (not the cheap plastic brush guards but actual steel handguards), gloves, etc.
Best of luck.

Re: hare scrambles
I usually try and go to local stores nearby and purchase my supplies when they are having a sale. If you look around you can really find some great steals. Otherwise I would reccomend a google search (or Froogle-part of google) and shop around for good buys.
