Good luck!

If it's the straight six motor than you'll be my hero if you can get it in that truck, cause I've got an 86 b2000 and it just looks like it would be a really tight fit! You could upgrade to just about any Ford or Mazda engine more along the lines of a 4cyl. or V6. I would recommend a 2.3L Ford Ranger engine(outta like a 96 or above). Then all you would have to do is install the computer and fuel injection, plus you'll have much better fire because of the 8 spark plugs instead of the original 4 that's in your truck now. Then just get your trans. geared for whatever performance level you're lookin for.

I'm in the process of putting a rotary 13b in my mazda truck. So far it's going pretty well. If you go with a carb and not fuel injection, it'll be really easy. if you got questions on what i've done just ask.

I just put a 1987 Mazda 626 turbo engine and computer in my carb. truck. It turned out pretty cool and it wasn't too hard either (Same basic block)

the motor bolted up to the tranny? cool. do you know what the engine code is? sounds like a fun project. proly makes it easier to drift right.

1984 Mazda b2000 engine swap to Ford 3.8 Turbo v6

Anybody ever swap out the engine in their b2000 for a Ford T-Bird Turbo 3.8 V6 or know of any info/parts available on this swap on the internet? I've got the complete engine, trans, intercooler, comp, etc for this swap just looking for info on doing it and what parts/modifications will be needed.

Thanks,
Jon
