91' Ranger, 2.3 ltr. running rich. what could be causing this? please help!!!

Could be several things... You can take it to some place like autozone and they usually will scan the codes for free. If no codes, then check fuel pressure.

Oxygen sensor can cause that problem among other things.

turns out the exhaust valve on the number 4 cylinder was missing a little chunk.
