passat '02 1.8T oil leak

I have a passat 1.8L turbo with 110k miles and just started to get an oil leak. I'm not sure where the oil is coming from except that the top of the starter motor is wet with oil. Could this be a cam seal?

Thanks for your help. Now that I look at the leak a little closer I'd say your assessment is correct. Are the cam seals replaced when the valve cover is off? Are they normally provided with the valve cover gasket or do you have to purchase them separately?

seperately..

you need to remove the cams to replace the seals and adjuster seals.
