Fast idle coolant leak
My 99 Pathfinder with a 3.3 engine has develped a slow coolant leak at plunger on the throttle body. The plunger actuates the fast idle depending on coolant temp. Despite the leak the plunger seems to be functional. Anyone know if this is repairable without replacing the entire throttle body? What is the affect of discontinuing coolant to the area?

Re: Fast idle coolant leak
Most people just live with that coolant leak. It can be replaced but the part is pretty expensive. The plunger is called a thermo-element and contains a wax pellet that responds to coolant temp. I think the part they sell is called a wax kit.
