Weird problem....
I was riding with dad in his olds. Shut off car at store, Restarted and pulled out and car died. It cranked but no start. It was dark and I tried to pull a spark plug wire to see if there was spark, and accually pulled wire off ign. coil. there was spark when he turned it over. put wire on and car started up. Now this seams to be a reoccuring problem, car dies, pull wire runs fine. I have never seen anything like this before. What could be the problem. Also hesitates when first stepping on gas. When you pull the wire off and crank it, it sounds like shit and sparks all over coil, when put back on starts and runs fine...........

Re: Weird problem....
It sounds like you have a simple coil wire issue. It may have cracked insulation or a defective connection inside the wire. I would replace both the coil and the coil wire and the issue should resolve itself.

If it was a simple coil wire problrm or even a coil the car would still try to start and run but sound like shit. when this happens all the car does is crank , it does not try to start untill i pull ANY wire either from coil or spark plug |

We also found out that if you pump the gas pedel it starts without removing a plug wire. I'm not sure if this is a fuel or spark problem, or both......Any suggestions? |
