All 2001 Ws6 Owners...
I have a 2001 WS6 6 spd. Its bone stock. I want a nice deep sounding exhaust system like they have on www.ls1sounds.com in the true duals section. Its the 6th link from the top. I want that exact same sound w/o spending thousands of dollars. My friend has a flowmaster on his car but i dont no wut an all he has on it. SOME PLZ HELP.

Wait for Mr. Luos to be on, he's probably the best one to ask about that as he's done some interesting things with his exhaust, he's got some video around of it and it sounds pretty damn good.

Re: All 2001 Ws6 Owners...
Are you going to be keeping it stock other than the catback/duals??
If so, the best sounding exhaust is the loudmouth. Sounds great with stock manifolds. Magnaflow is another really good one. GMMG sounds the best of the catbacks, but it costs a TON. Tons of places have true dual set-ups for $500+. My custom true duals are going to cost $600-625. That includes x-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.

Re: All 2001 Ws6 Owners...
Well, it doesn't have exhaust for this clip. Open headers.
Click here to see Video It HAD a distinct sound for an LS1 car. Not sure what it was though. I have more videos somewhere of the exhaust when it was on. I hated it, too raspy. I didn't drive it for long with the open headers, and currently the car doesn't even have a motor. I will be running Kooks 1 7/8" headers, and custom 3" true duals with Magnaflow mufflers soon though.

Hey Mr. Luos...
I'll trade you my Red 1998 Firebird w/ kickass 3.8 V6 for your WS6 Trans Am... Really you'll be coming out on top because you would be getting better gas mileage...something you need with gas prices these days... |

Re: All 2001 Ws6 Owners...
Cam will give the car the lope.
Right now, my car is completely torn down. No motor, tranny is sitting underneath, but not connected to anything. That entire clip was open headers. Couple different cameras though, might be why it sounds a little different on some of the clips. Open headers sucks. Sounds cool for about 30 seconds, then gets TOO loud. Quote:
