I took it, but I don't remember what I got. All I know is that the local Navy recruiter called my parent's house looking for me every six months. No military for me, thanks.

Armed Services V-something Aptitude Battery.
I took it last fall and got a 94. I was going to join the reserves, but it just wouldn't work out with school. would've been nice to get an "extra" 741 dollars a month though.

Shit, $1400 a month? you going in as a officer? prior military? what? We need some more info here. What did the Liars, er recruiters say? Lets here it. Tell me what they said, what you said, what your options are, then I can help a little. I was lucky not to get screwed when I joined, but I have a few friends who did. They would have been OK if they would have listened to me. So help us out a little more, and give us the run down.

Well, lets see. Which branch of service? Did they offer any bonus'? if so under what conditions. Where did they get $1400 a month? How did they get that? What rank did they offer you out of Basic training? E1, E2, if your lucky, E3. What type of schooling are they talking about? I took some from the Marine Corp Institute coarses, and well, they look good, but...... They dont amount to much. They may be transferable to a regular school, but I have not looked into it.

Make sure you sign a contract, which guarauntees your 30K for school, or whatever. From a few friends going the same route as you, I've heard that free time (i.e. time to take classes) is hard to come by, so getting much schooling done is a hard thing. But, then again, they might be slackers...don't really know. One thing is for sure, it has great benefits (money, retirement, healthcare....), but I think this is a personal decision. Overall, make sure you know what you're getting into!!!!
