96 Sonoma Fuel Pump mystery
I have a 2.2L that has 155K. It has been parked for the past few months and I have started it about every 2 weeks. The last time I tried, I discovered the fuel pump was not working. After changing out the fuel pump and installing a new filter, I am having a hard time getting the fuel to the injectors. I checked and have fuel at the filter. I can get it started using starter fluid but will not continue to run on its own. Any idea's about what to check next???

Re: 96 Sonoma Fuel Pump mystery
Have you checked your injectors? Check the fuel pressure with a gauges. And the filter you replaced, was it the in-tank sock, or the actual fuel filter inline on the rail?

Re: 96 Sonoma Fuel Pump mystery
You have to reprime the system by turnng the key to the on position before start for 5 seconds and back to off for ten seconds about 10 times to completely reprime the fuel system again.
