'90 Accord, 250,000 miles--how far will it go?
I'm looking to buy a '90 Accord. It is super clean, and has all the maintenance records (well maintained). But it has 250,000 miles on it. How many more miles can I expect from this car?

Nobody can tell for sure. I know someone with '89 accord with 325,000 highway miles on it but he's the original owner and he keeps up with the maintenance. Only thing not original from his vehicle is the tranny, the exhaust pipe/muffler, the timing belt and of course the tires.
Make sure it's not all cosmetics, meaning the car recently detailed just to increase the resale value. Well maintained or not something is bound to fall apart sooner or later, which is common for any vehicle with such high mileage. In my opinion, shop around some more, look elsewhere for one with less/better mileage because it's really a gamble with this vehicle. Anyway, what's the asking price for it? |

I have seen over 400k several times. It will last as long as you want it too.

I just picked up a '90 Accord EXi with 353k miles on the clock...runs like a dream, and paid just NZ$1000 - at current exchange rates that's approximately US$580

my car has almost 265k and runs like a dream still. I drive it hard, and always have, haven't had any problems with it.

Re: '90 Accord, 250,000 miles--how far will it go?
Last year, read about a guy with a 96 accord EX or something like that with 1 million miles on it. He worked at making maps and Honda bought the car back from him as a milestone car.
