I actually am. I work at a Buick dealership, and am kinda getting tired of looking at all the Rendezvous' because they are somewhat bilious, but still good vehicles. But the this looks great, If it rides anything like the Rendezvous it will be a good addition to the Buick Line-up. Now all Buick needs to do is come out with a new T-Type or... dare I say... Bring back the GN. Tman, any specs on the engine?

Yes, base and middle model will have the Vortec 4200 I6, 275hp, CXL will be available with the Vortec 5300 V8. The only GM midsize SUV to be offered with the V8 in the SWB model.
This would look nice in the garage next to the Park Avenue! I agree with you, the next W-body needs to be RWD, and the GN should be brought back, I'm hoping the new GTO might get a Chevy cousin, the Chevelle, and a Buick cousin, the Grand National. I considered asking Igor for a GN forum, but I think that the threads are okay in the Regal forum. He just made the Rainier and skylark forums for us, so I am thankful.

That I6 is a good engine, not to mention the V8. All I know is I'd roll in one I think it would be a while before chevy and buick did anything to go with the GTO as the first year for cars is usually a test run anyways. But I read somewhere that Chevy was looking into bringing back the El Camino? Not sure if that's good or bad, but the 70's 454 was pretty badass, so If they wanna do it like that, it's fine with me.

Wegot our first Ranier today!! Yes its a nice ride, but if you ever seen a GMC Envoy or Chevy Trailblazer you know what they look like except differnt hood, lights and instrument cluster (looks like the Vibe's cluster).
The Envoy also can come with a V 8 engine!!! We also have one of those on the lot. Next comes the GMC Canyon with a straight 4 of 5 cylinder engines. Chevy has the 2004 Spark coming out with is a Metro.

Yes I am with a US dealer we just updated our electronic service manuals and they list the SPARK (Metro) in the manuals. It is supposed to me a chevy Geo replacement to the metro!! But most of the times GM tells the public first before the dealers find out.

I believe you are right the Spark is built in China right now. But for the GM techs we use the 4th letter of the vin to let us know what kind of car we are working on and the 4th letter of the SPark is the same as the metro's. So there is some confusion there along with GM giving us service manuals on the car even thought we are US dealers.
To me the N car is a Grand AM, Malibu W car is the Century, Regal,Grand Prix C car is the Park Ave H car is the Lesabre This is how we refer to cars and trucks among us techs most of the time. This is also how we find out how much each job on a certain car pays.

Ranier owner
This is one of the slickest new SUVs to come along - Already had a new '03 GMC Yukon XL & thought we also wanted an Envoy till we stumbled into the Ranier @ Texas State Fair display. Went to drive 2 Envoys; even looked at new Cadillac SUV - also Nissan. Nothing is as plush as Ranier. Rides good, sits good, looks good; classy! Has rear air suspension so it sits level and doesn't do a nose dive all the time. Super quiet, too.
Hey Buick guys: You done yourself proud! Thanks! |
