I went to Navy Show (?) in Staten Island. There were ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, and helicopters. Safety belts in back of ambulances and fire trucks are similar to those in racing cars. Why?

Not everyone stops for Fire, Police, Rescue, and other responders. Those belts are to protect the occupants from idiot drivers.
