2001 isuzu trooper 1st gear issue
01 trooper, When I take off slow in 1st gear No issues, But when I give it a little more gas it hesitates or it takes a couple of seconds to kick in gear, after it goes into 2,3,4 runs great in all other gears. Also when I come to a stop it does the same thing, when I take off slow shifts great, But when I put my foot to the gas it hesitates again or jumps into 1st gear after a second or two. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: 2001 isuzu trooper 1st gear issue
![]() ![]() My Isuzu Trooper 6cly 4x4 auto Transmission hesitates only sometimes in 1st gear only, when I take off slow I have No problem, But when I give it more gas it hesitates. All other gears shift just fine. I know somebody's saying just take off slow, But when my Teenagers drive sometimes they forget and have told me they where out in the middle of the street and had a close call almost getting Hit by another Car before the Tranny Kicked in. Any One have Any Suggestions, My Teenagers Would Also appreciate Your Help..Thanks |

Re: 2001 isuzu trooper 1st gear issue
I found this site for questions on my 95 trooper, was reading old posts to find out about my intermittent cel, and came across your post. Hopefully you have solved, but in case anyone else wonders, my just did this - hesitates going into 1st after a stop. I panicked because I just had transmission replaced 4 months ago. Mechanic found a fuse blown - it controls transmission idle and brake lights.
