Distributer change for 1986? L98
Hello. I need to tap on the knowledge base out there. So here goes:
I bought a 1986 Pontiac Fiero, which came with a L98 installed. I don't know anything about the motor, but I think it's an 86 L98 TPI as it has Iron heads. I read in Hot Rod Mag. Apr. 15 about replacing the long restrictive runners with a Holley StealthRam intake manifold and holley fuel rails, So off I went, and when I started to reassemble the motor I find the stock distributor will no longer fit. So in a nut shell, I need a "small-cap HEI with remote coil". The dist. I have now has the coil on the top, and a ignition control module inside. This connects to some wires that wander off to who knows where. Any idea of a part number replacement distributor that will connect up? Thanks in advance, Ernie |
