Canyon front end tire wear-help !
ok, please excuse me first, I am not mechanically inclined
I have a 2009 GMC Canyon 4x4 . I had a previous model Canyon 2007 . I seem to be having an unusual amount of tire wear on the inside edge of my front tires. Almost new tires, front end alignment good. I dont drive nutty, dont run into curbs ,ditches..etc. Just normal highway driving. Within 2 months after tires and alignment done, the inside edge of the tires are very clearly wearing. Now 2 months later, the front tires on the inside are about to come apart ! Now the previous model I had, used to do this as well.. but I got a recall on the Z toe height setting..blah blah. I have repeatedly asked my tire guys to check and recheck, the amount of wear and time its occurring, seems not right. i am good about rotating my tires, keeping air in and checked. I got this 2009 truck, used in 2011with 25000 miles . I have now gone thru 4 sets of tires. I have looked and so far have not found any recalls on the front end... can anyone help me with suggestions ? I keep bugging my tire guys and they treat me like a dumb girl that " just wants the big metal thing to go vvrrooommm " down the road |

Re: Canyon front end tire wear-help !
Assuming no worn suspension or steering parts this is not normal with a proper alignment. When the alignment was done you should have gotten a final printout of the settings, post that and we can help. If none, get it rechecked and get the printout.

Re: Canyon front end tire wear-help !
Thank you, I also saw in another thread someone was having issues and had the shocks replaced even though the ones on the vehicle were ok. and no problems since. So I will have them check the suspension, steering parts and possibly replace the shocks. Im spending a fortune in tires

Re: Canyon front end tire wear-help !
When the shocks are bad a sort of choppy uneven wear pattern occurs, not just more wear on the inside of the tire. Google what bad shocks tire wear looks like. May need different wording there are pictures out there that will give you an idea of what you are seeing.
