Question... (to race or not to race?)
So... I hope there are some people here familiar with the new Mistu Evo. Well... It's an ugly car (IMO) but it's quick..hella quick My friend is thinking about getting one. He says when he does he wants to race me and my Camaro...just for the hell of it, cause he thinks my Cam is pretty fast. It doesn't have nearly as many horses as the Evo so I don't know about this. It would just be for fun... but do y'all think the Cam could put up a fight? He says he'd prolly beat me off the line but I'd catch up...

Is the camaro 6 cyl., Z-28, or SS? Do you have any mods?

You see that's the thing... it's just a V-6 Coupe...no mods...yet. If it were a V-8 Z28 or SS I would consider it... I think the dude is just fucking with me... LOL. Cause all our friends have ghetto vehicles and he's just looking for someome to race. haha.

I do believe the Evo will smoke you without too much of a problem.

Will it be possible to add a supercharger and a 150 shot of nitrous to your car before the race? Just tell him you left it stock

Haha... seriously. I figured as much. But he can't get the Evo until next year of course... so um...plenty of time to modify the Cam. lol.
Anyway... For you Cam owners, what have you done to your rides to improve performance? A supercharger? Hmm...  |

Oh...what about a stock V-8? How would that do?
I know it's like comparing apples and...watermelons... lol. This dude is serious, though when he says the Cam would win in the end. I think he's a little confused at what I'm driving. |

I think the evo would still have the stock Z in the end, but with a cold air intake and upgrade the exhaust you might pull ahead, add headers to the list and I think the evo would go down.
Those seems to be the eastiest/cheapest mods to do off the start, and they all could be applied to your V-6 as well. |

He will win. I doubt a v6 cam would have a shot at new civic si even. Trade your car in for a z 28 thats the same color and take the badges off and get some new rear gears,long tube headers,dynomax exhaust,and a filter and a evo would be a good race and then im sure the camaro would win.

miml,
Your v6 would get waxed badly (were talking many bus lenghts in the 1/4). An EVO makes a good match for a stock 01-02 LS1 Z28. The EVOs AWD and weight advantage will give it the edge in the 1/8, but the LS1 has the extra grunt to catch it by the 1/4. It would come down to driver really. In any case if you are racing just for fun, go ahead and do it.
