2000 ram 1500 cannot get out park

The selector lever just flops around does not move linkage at end of column. Have not worked on the newer style columns. Last time I worked on one they had the gm style column. So any body out there familiar with this style column ?
I could use some info.
Thank you

Here's a downloadable 2001 service manual.
The download is kinda slow but worth the wait.

Start at page 1599.

Re: 2000 ram 1500 cannot get out park

that is the best i'v seen so far the dealer did not have an answer for it they said they would have to look at it they had not seen the problem before. and that the parts might not be avallable that they only make some parts for 10 years unless they are real popular. the manual should help. I looked at it real quick temp was 40 with 40mph wind and it is out side. Looked at alldata & Miitchell not very good info.
Thank You
