Re: Guess where I am today?
Don't I wish Sami!! Hopefully I can take advantage of that invitation sometime in the not too distant future.
Today I paid a visit to McLaren Beverly Hills who took the wrapper off their showroom on Wilshire Blvd for the first time and were kind enough to invite me down to see it on opening day. While I didn't have the good fortune of finding another F1 I was still pretty thrilled to be there. A McLaren dealership in North America is a really wonderful thing, and now we have 10 of them! I'm going to bounce this thread over to the 12C forum eventually, but I know that most of the people looking in here are not always paying attention there too and frankly I was trying to stir a little frenzy in here with my little teaser there at the top. Unfortunately I didn't bring along a "real" camera, but still managed nearly 200 decent shots with my iPhone which I hope you'll enjoy. Click the image below to access my Flickr album. If you happen to be in the area, the staff were really great people and will be glad to have enthusiasts stop in to check out the new cars. Be sure to tell them Peloton25 sent you. >8^) ER Last edited by Peloton25; 11-17-2011 at 04:21 AM. |

Nice pics. Volcano Red is such a great colour for the 12C.

Re: Guess where I am today?
Peloton, out of curiosity, are MC12's actually here in the U.S.? I.e., are actual production cars for sale? I know there have been a number of pre-production vehicles in the country. This seems to be the second dealership you've visited, so I was guessing they're up and running but wasn't certain. Regardless, the iPhone 4 picts look great!

Re: Guess where I am today?
These two cars at the Beverly Hills dealer are full production MP4-12Cs intended to function as the dealership's demonstration cars going forward and at some point they will eventually be sold and replaced with new ones. Each of the 10 McLaren retailers in North America will be receiving a similar pair of cars, either in the past few days or within a week or so is my understanding. The dealerships have each spec'd out their own cars so there are different flavors depending on where you look. With the Beverly Hills cars, the orange one pretty much ticks every single box on the options list where they red car is more of a medium-spec car.
San Francisco had not received theirs yet when I visited two weeks ago - the black one they had was a Production Prototype (PP14) - but now they have a McLaren Orange car (the F1 LM color) and a silver one as well. Down in Newport Beach they have a white one and a Volcano Orange car that looks similar to the one in Beverly Hills. The dealership in Philadelphia, PA just got their first in Titanium Silver that will be at the local Cars & Coffee this weekend. Lake Forest in Chicago has a McLaren Orange and a Black one. Dallas should have theirs this week and the cars for McLaren Toronto are apparently in country, awaiting clearance through Customs at last report. I'm not sure about the status of cars for Greenwich, CT or Miami and Tampa Bay, FL as I have not seen any reports yet but it is probably a similar story for those three locations. Actual customer 12Cs are due in before the end of the year with deliveries currently targeted for January but there is a good bet that they will see them sooner from what I was told. If someone has not already ordered a car it might be a while before they can sell you one and that may differ by region. The gentleman in Beverly Hills mentioned they have ordered the largest number of cars for customers in the US - something like 50 cars I think. Now that dealers can start putting people behind the wheel with a little more freedom I have a feeling that the queue is going to fill up pretty quick. >8^) ER PS: MC12's were made by Maserati. Re: Guess where I am today?
I believed too you were at Woking
In France, deliveries are also delayed. Only 2 customers have their car, the third is there but not updated and customers 4 & 6 are close friends and delayed too. What I don't understand : if actual problems are only electronic, why to do not deliver the car on the same truck ? PP14 is not the car which make Top Gear track ? Re: Guess where I am today?
Thought I,d bump this thread in here as it is MP4 related, there maybe some F1 content in tomorrow nights program, but will still be worth watching all the same.
