Popping Driver Side Wheel In Reverse
1998 Intrigue - 158,000 miles. today I put the car in reverse to back out of the driveway and turing the wheel to the right in reverse, I heard and felt a pop in the driver side wheel, I continued the reverse without any throttle and the popping and binding stopped the car. I gave it a little gas and the wheel popped again but began rolling. Put the car in drive..........smooth and quite. I was told 60,000 miles ago the struts were shot and just put new brakes and rotors on 3,000 miles ago. Should I start with replacing the HUBs, then CV's and on......until I've rebuilt the entire front end?

I had a similar issue after swapping to the 12 inch rotors, I didnt get the caliper mounting bracket bolts tight enough...but you shouldnt have had to dig that deep into the brakes if you just did pads and rotors.

Re: Popping Driver Side Wheel In Reverse
probably your strut mount bearing/plates. get them replaced along with your struts. not a big safety issue but it will get louder. they are designed to twist with the steering but they get worn and 'caught up' causing clicking/popping especially the first turn in reverse...
