hard wire the blower motor?

93 olds 98 3.8l
Ah so who would have thought a 17 year old car would have a electrical problem. I smelled a burning smell and checked behind my radio. I have many many wires fused together. I cut them out they were melted/burnt all the way back to the fuse panel and who knows where else. The only problems that I have are that my heater will not turn on My backlight on the speedometer does not work but i can live with that by using some lcd light or something for night driving everything else still works but the radio
The LCD display for the heat/AC system shows 3 dashes --- and I cannot turn the heat on. I need my heater to work its going to snow soon.
Trying to wire all this mess I do not have the patience for and many of the wires melted waaay up where i cannot reach them without dismantling the chassis or pulling the steel frame of the dashboard out . Is it possible to wire the blower motor on this vehicle straight to the battery with an in-line switch or something?
The motor has a label saying it is 12 volts. Its mounted center engine rear firewall. It has1 electrical connector which connects 2 wires black/purple on it and these run through the firewall and into the dashboard. can I perhaps pop this connector off and wire to the 2 pins on the motor back to the battery with an inline switch? I need poor mans fixit, i am broke as all hell.
