Stage 1 Performance Chip for 95 Camaro
I was looking to buy a Stage 1 Performance Chip for my 95 Camaro. It says it can give up to 50 HP. Is it even worth buying? And if so, how much HP could i get out of it?

Re: Stage 1 Performance Chip for 95 Camaro
been years since I've posted on this forum - things seem quiet...
Do not waste your money on a chip. I had a Jet stage II chip on my old setup (technical its not even a chip right - you plug it right into your PCM). These days you can have your computer tuned for like $150-$200. PCMforless did my tune recently on my 383 buildup. I would save your money no other more important mods (exhaust & intake for starters). I'm assuming the car is stock. If not, I'd consider buy a hypertech power programmer (I think they ran like $300+) or send your computer to PCMforless. However you get more of your money's worth with custom tuning when you have a lot of changes done to the car. I liked the hypertech PP ages ago on my car. Also, no way whatsoever you will be getting 50+ hp from chip. When my old 355 hot cam engine was around I think the jet stage II chip was good for maybe 20-25 hp at the most... |
