ABS wire to hub - where is the otherside of the wire?
I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6. The ABS/TC isn't working. It's not working because of the driver front wheel. I fixed it once by buying a new harness pigtail and then spliced it in. But the wiring down by the wheel hub is extremely brittle. When I was trying to splice it in, the wire to the car was basically breaking off as I was trying to splice it in. I spliced it in as close to where all the wires go into a huge bundle. The van's ABS worked for a few weeks and then quit again. I know that's the spot it's broke. Only thing I can think to permanently fix it is to splice brand new wire to the pigtail and then run it to wherever it goes where it hasn't been weathered for 10+ years and the wire isn't all rotted. Does anyone know where I would find the wire where it runs into the ABS control or ECM or wherever it runs? I'm sure if you can tell me the area to find it in, I can confirm it by using a continuity test with my multimeter.

Hi !
Rather wire break in the sensor. This is the most common failure ![]() ![]() |

Re: ABS wire to hub - where is the otherside of the wire?
I forgot to mention that my first fix I did to attempt to fix the TC/ABS was I replaced the wheel hub which would've fixed what you're showing the the picture. I replaced the wheel hub because I didn't want to cut the wire. I knew as soon as I cut the wire, then I would have a spliced wire that is never as good as the factory wire. After replacing the wheel hub and that not working, I then replaced the end of the ABS wire. But I still really suspect the splice. I want to splice it in where it hasn't been weathered for 10+ years. I want new wire. Unless someone reading this thinks this isn't the problem. I just know when I spliced the wire, the wire was basically breaking off as I was trying to splice them together.

Re: ABS wire to hub - where is the otherside of the wire?
Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how to replace the whole wire? I was looking in the engine compartment where I think it is the brake modulator (under the master cylinder) and I don't see where these wires are plugging into. Before I start thinking about changing the wire out, I need to know exactly where the other side plugs in.
