1996 Olds Silhouette temp gauge
96 silhouette - temp gauge is showing 250 degrees. new radiator, new thermostat and new coolant sensor. water pump is circulating coolant. infrared temp on engine, hoses, etc. shows 192 or so degrees. heater is putting out lots of heat. low speed fan does not come on. high speed fan comes on when AC is turned on. any ideas on why the temp gauge is reading so high?

Re: 1996 Olds Silhouette temp gauge
Assuming the cooling system has been bled out properly. Does the hi fan running,( w/ A/C on), lower the gauge reading? Check fan speed relays, wiring, etc.

Re: 1996 Olds Silhouette temp gauge
I found the relay box under the hood, but none of the relays are marked as to what they control. Is there a diagram of the relays and what they control and how to test them?

Re: 1996 Olds Silhouette temp gauge
Please answer the inquiry about the system being bled. If it is not properly bled it will cause air pockets which will cause overheating issues.
