1996 Engine Swap
Greetings all,
I have a question concerning an engine swap in a 1996 Eclipse. He has a 1996Eclipse spyder convertible with a 2.4L 5 speed and the tranny is messing up. We have found a 1996 Eclipse hard top with a 2.0L (blown motor) but with a good 5 speed tranny. Can the 2.4 engine be put in the hardtop using the hardtop tranny without modification. I have confidence in the regulars on this forum and I know nothing about Mitsubishi's, which is now apparent LOL. Thanks in advance for any help. Thanks, Rick |

It would probobly work .But its going to be a lot slower then the orig. Any autoparts store will tell you if it will bolt on
