manual override for AWD on 2006 SV6
Hi, does anyone know how to manually override the awd system in a 2006 Montana sv6?
I need the awd to be on when I need it (on a toggle switch setup in the dash) I am running this vehicle as a commercial taxi 21 hours a day, 7 days a week in a ski resort. The roads are constantly covered in snow, ice, salt, gravel and chemicals. This is causing almost constant problems with my wheel speed sensors which kills the abs and awd. I don't care about the abs, all my drivers are experienced professionals and we don't care if we don't have abs but the awd is a must for some of the steep hills in this town. Does someone know how to wire up a switch to just turn the awd on or have a wiring diagram of the awd/abs system or both..? I know of another method, but the awd would be on permanently and it requires pulling the rear diff apart and costs about $250 to do. Then there is no turning it off again without ripping the diff apart again, and it would also mean more wear and tear, worse fuel economy... Thanks |
