Engine Stutter/ P0340 code
05 Dodge Neon: Engine stuttering badly after what felt like a misfire or missed gear change. Engine light came on and stayed on. Checked in engine compartment, and all seemed good. Drove home, check engine light was still on. Got home and looked up error code. P0340: No camshaft position sensor signal at PCM. Checked AutomotiveForums.com (THANK YOU!!!!) and found that connector might be loose, since there were no previous errors/modifications which would cause this. The CPS connector is in an inconvenient spot on the engine next to the battery tray, but after disconnecting the neg batt terminal and reseating this connector; reconnected the neg terminal, and the check engine light is off and the code is gone. 30 minute repair, zero cost!!
