97 tiburon rough idle
i bought a 97 tiburon. so far i love the car. the only problem i have is after the car is warm n ive driven it for awhile when i come to a stop, the car vibrates. ive changed the timing belt and the front motor mount. also ive done all new plugs n wires. n a few other things. it seems like an electrical probalem cause if i turn on the defrost or use the power windows, the RMPs drop a bit more n the vibration gets worse. i thought about cleaning the idle air control n the throttle body but i havent done it yet. if anyone has had this same problem n knows how to fix it please help me

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
I was going to suggest cleaning your throttle body but you already have that on your list. It should clear your idling issue.

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
so i finally had the car in the shop the other day to do some other work to it. while it was there i figured id try cleaning the throttle body with some intake cleaner and a tooth brush. i also sprayed some in both sides of the idle air speed control. i had my fingers crossed for no more vibration but i drove the car around for awhile n the first light i came to i noticed it still had the vibration.

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
Try cleaning the MAF/IACT sensor, New Air filter, and buy new upstream H02 sensors.

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
well i can try cleaning the MAF sensor. the air filter is new and i dont have an upstream o2 sensor cause ive installed an obx header and theres no bung for the sensor but the car was vibrating before the header install.

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
Sounds like it might be time for a computer scan.

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
The upsteam H02 sensors are used for a feedback signal, so the ECU/PCU can forumlate the Air/fuel mix. 14.7 to 1.0

Re: 97 tiburon rough idle
now im having a few more problems with my car. the vibration is getting better or im just not noticing it as much anymore, i donno. i took all of my stock air cleaner system outta the car to put on a shitty "cold air filter" which gave me nowhere to put my intake air temp sensor. the car is kinda sluggish through all the gears and this didnt start as soon as i put the filter on it started shortly after. to eliminate any problems i put an actual cold air intake on the car n cleared the codes. its still acting sluggish but only sometimes and never under the same conditions. i have yet to remove the header to weld in an O2 sensor bung but thats next on my list. was just wondering if anyone knows of any other problems i could be having or if i should just fix the known problems frist. also ive been noticing my clutch slipping when i race the car...
