Aveo Air Conditioning Question
My 2005 Aveo air conditioning works great.....if I'm moving! As soon as I stop at a light or drive thru, it starts blowing hot air!!
Can anyone give me some idea what would be causing this problem? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Aveo Air Conditioning Question
Make sure your radiator fan is running, and there isn't a blown fuse. Is the engine temp normal when you stop at a light?

Re: Aveo Air Conditioning Question
ditto on the cooling fan--- a/c is always the first indicator of an inop cooling fan....either the relay or the motor if fan doesn't run at idle with a/c on...

Re: Aveo Air Conditioning Question
Can anyone share their technical experience in replacing ang installing new aircon compressor? I have installed new compressor but after 2weeks the cooling becomes less and the compressor oil becomes grayish. All possible technical advise and suggestions are welcome.

Re: Aveo Air Conditioning Question
My problem is about my newly replaced aircon compressor that cools well only for 2weeks then the cooling becomes less and noticed that the compressor oil becomes grayish. Any technical advise and suggestion is highly appreciated.

Re: Aveo Air Conditioning Question
The air in my '05 has never really been great. Except at night, then it smokes. I guess the windows are too big and not UV treated or something. I've never had that symptom though. The fan would be a good bet. That's about the only thing that would make that much of a difference when not moving / idle.
For my Aveo during the day you have to recycle the air, and even then only after 30+ minutes at freeway speeds does it get to what most people are used to. A couple of summers ago, it was like 110F out and the A/C only managed to keep it near 85F inside. But my previous car didn't have any functional A/C, so I guess I've just grown used to it. Or otherwise adjusted my summer travel to when it's primarily dark out. My main gripes of sorts. - A/C is weak during daylight hours - Radio sucks - CD player sucks more - Clock becomes unreadable when it's hot out. - Clock does weird things if you don't drive that often - Rabbits like to sit on the engine block and chew on the map sensor wires |
