1991 Astro: Passenger Window Wiring
On a 1991 Astro, the power window wiring connects to the back of the switches via plug-ons. My problem is that most of the wires for the passenger side window switch are broken at the crimp-on connectors located inside the plastic disc-shaped plug-on, and I have no idea which poles of the switch each wire is supposed to go to.
The wire colors are as follows: 1) Pink (I imagine power). 1) Tan and 1) Blue/White (from driver's window switch) 1) Dk. Blue and 1) Brown (for the motor) I have a schematic diagram that matches the wiring colors installed in the vehicle. While the schematic indicates which wire is for what purpose, it doesn't indicate which poles on the switch each wire is supposed to map to. Looking at the back of the switch, its poles are laid out as follows: B A D C F E At this point, only the Pink wire is still attached to its connector, and is placed to line up with Pole A. I have tested the switch and found continuity as follows: Normal Position: B to D, and C to E Up Position: A to D, and C to E Down Position: B to D, and A to C Note: I have attached a .JPG image file of this for reference. It appears to me that Poles D and C should be for the wires going to the motor (Dk. Blue and Brown), as in all cases above, these are the poles continuity transfers to. However, I'm at a loss for the rest. I have some sneaky suspicions, but I'd like to get some definite feedback on this instead of trying it blind. Any help on this would be *greatly* appreciated. Thank you in advance. grpace Last edited by grpace; 12-22-2010 at 09:50 AM. |
