Pimp mobile has a problem :(

My 1995 merc grand marquis has a problem. I was sitting in it with the heater on for about 5 minutes on my lunch break, went inside for a few hours and when I came back out it did not want to start.

Well the next day I found out my relay box was "clicking" I replaced all the relays and adjusted/inspected the wiring and got the clicking to stop, when it clicks my check engine light clicks along with it. it will not give any error code.

After replacing all the relays it starts, runs rough, then dies. I even replaced my diode to the relay box. do I have a bad box? a short? or maybe a faulty sensor? where do I start or should I give up and take it to a mechanic seeing as I know nothing about wiring.

thanks,
-JD

Are you sure its not just a bad battery?

Re: Pimp mobile has a problem :(

It sounds like you have a wire harness that's worn through and causing a short. I would carefully inspect the wiring harness for damage starting at the relay box. A common area for harness wear is at the front bumper brackets. Good Hunting.

Re: Pimp mobile has a problem :(

I surrendered and took it to a mechanic. i'll let you know the damage and hopefully this thread will help people in the future. After the mechanic diagnosed it for half an hour he gave up saying his code reader wouldnt read a code because it kept cutting out. may be the main computer but you're right the wiring harness is a possibility too. I find out today what it is i'll re post tonight.
