Re: 2001 starter fuse keeps blowing
How to remove and install starter
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal 2. Raise the front end and put it on jack stands. Set the emergency brake. 3. Take off the air cleaner resonator. Move the transmission control modulator (TCM) to the side and out of the way witout disconnecting it's elctrical connections. 4. Remove the upper starter mounting bolt. 5. Disconnect the positive battery cable. Unlock the red tab on the solenoid connector and compress it to disconnect it. 6. Remove the lower starter bolt. 7. Take your old starter to the parts store. If you are buying a rebuilt starter you will get partial credit on your old starter by returning it. 8. Install the new starter by reversing the removal process. Torque the starter mounting bolts to 40 ft/lbs. 9. Lower your Sebring and reconnect the negative battery terminal. |
