AAMCO (grrrrrrrr)
for those of you familar with the problems i had with aamco...you wont believe what this asshole said... i contacted the better business bureau and filed a claim...i posted exactly what i told you guys... wanna see what he told them back? We did work on Mr. Whitehurst's 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse . In October of 2008 we rebuilt the transmision and installed a new clutch assembly.\par \par We delt with Mr. Whitehursts father. At that point we advised Mr. Whitehurst Sr. that the car had the none turbo transmission in it and would not stand up to the abusive driving.\par In April of 2009 Mr. Whitehurst Sr. returned the to my shop with extensive internal damage. Even though it was obviouse to us the damage was a result of abusive driving. I agreed to repair the transmission for parts only, no labor at all. As a result of the damage in the transmission it was more cost effective to replace the whole transmission with a remanufactured transmission. At that point I begged Mr. Whitehurst Sr. to let me put the Turbo transmission in the car. Mr. Whitehurst declinded the turbo transmission because the price was more than he was willing to spend and insisted on going with the less expensive non turbo unit. he commented if he tears this one up then he will have to pay for it himself. Meaning his son Mr. Whitehurst Jr..\par In August of 2009 Mr. Whitehurst Jr. returned the car with internal damage again. I told him I would work with him on the price, only if he wold allow me to put the turbo transmission in the car. Since the turbo transmission is built to withstand the power the turbo is putting out. When he refused I told him I was no longer interested in working on his car. Both Mr. Whitehurst Sr. and Jr. refused to allow me to put the turbo transmission in the car.\par I find it amusing that in Mr. Whitehursts resolution, he asks for the turbo unit to be installed. So he realized that this is the problem and the solution and he just wants someone else to pay for it. Mr. Whitehurst Jr. has gone through 3 transmissions in 10 months.\par I have no offer for Mr Whitehurst Sr. or Jr. at this point.\par Thank You\par David Dunn

Re: AAMCO (grrrrrrrr)
that was 15 mins ago i got hat email...and heres what i responded...
This is simply not true. There is absolutely no evidence of abusive driving, because there was none. Why isn't anything else broken? Why is it something different every time? This is clearly shotty work, and I dare any other tech to investigate the transmission, where he/she will NOT find abusive wear. I am serious about this, I will literally allow someone to investigate it, if need be. I'd bet my life there isn't performance wear. I don't drive it hard, for the simple reason that the car needs to undergo much more tuning before it ever sees hard driving. I am only driving it to work, and school. \par I am not asking for a replacement involving the turbo model transmission. The reason being, as I have tried telling Mr. Dunn several times, is that it clearly will not fit on my engine. To have suggested this, it becomes clear as to why I am having problems in the first place. After telling other techs, whilst seeking second opinions, they have laughed at the idea. You should have heard what the Mitsu dealership tech said. I have since done extensive research, and the 4G63 turbo model transaxle WILL NOT FIT on a 420A model engine(my rs). The thing sits on the complete opposite side of the engine than mine does!\par Running a turbo model transmission(if it were possible) has nothing to do with standing up against wear. There are people in this very state alone who have the same exact car, engine, transmission, and turbo kit, who have NEVER had this problem. Everyone I have asked, in a community of other dsm owners, have ALL shot up red flags...because this should NOT be happening.\par And let me be real clear, the transmission is fine. The problem apparently lies between the trans. and the engine...\par At this point, I wouldnt let them touch my car if they offered to do it for free. I thought that being Aamco, they would stand behind their work. I have since found out, that Aamco is individualy owned and operated, in other words, its not Aamco that should be getting the bad wrap for this. As long as I live in this city, I will forever warn anyone who dares go there for work...\par Also, there was never any "deal on a price" for any work. That must be a joke. \par As for the final diagnosis, HA! What diagnosis? I was told there would be one, and this time they didn't even remove the transmission! Then they told me i'd need to buy another one!} \par }\pard \ql \li0\ri0\widctlpar\aspalpha\aspnum\faauto\adjustri ght\rin0\lin0\itap0 {\insrsid13842033 \par }}
