Myterious Electrical Problem........
Excuse my poor English grammar... I will do my best to describe my current situation.
Instrument Panel Light / Tail Light Fuse Is Keep Blowing Up !!! I just bought an used 1993 Del Sol Si model, automatic. It seem like there is a few electrical problems with this car. My main concern is that the Instrument Panel/ Tail Light fuse is keep blowing up as soon as I put one in. I got pulled over the other day for not having the tail light on. Also, it is very difficult to drive in the dark without the instrument panel lit up. I read an article from somewhere that this may be caused by an after market in-dash stereo with a faulty illumination wire hooked up to the wrong place. If there is any truth to this, please let me know what to look for after pulling out the dash (stereo). I'm not very good with wiring and electrical terms so if you can describe the color, location, steps..etc., it will help me a lot. If there is no truth to this, please let me what my other options are. BTW, I did notice that my after market in-dash CD player has an illumination setting. I don't think these other issues are related, but let me tell you what they are. I am hoping that all these problems are related to each other and i can kill 5 birds with one stone. 1) Interior (dome) light does not go out after closing doors. I have to turn it off and on manually. 2) The parking brake lever is down all the way, but the 'Brake" sign stays on. Sometime it works fine and goes out. 3) Auxillery light (Fog lights) won't come on. Its fuse is fine. 4) Gear shifter (automatic) dash/panel also won't come on. |
