Exclamation Passat 2000 problems after water got in!

Hello to all, I'm new to the forum but I come here often to look for advice once in a while. I was searching the forum for a response on my problem and found no answer.

Recently I had some work done on my 2000 Passat V6, I got water inside the driver side and you all know what happens if water goes anywhere close to the little box under the seat
After paying over $900 bucks I got my car back and I was able to drive it again, but then I notice that the keyless and trunk release did not work any more, even when trying to release the trunk from the inside of the car. The gas release works (at least so far). So now to open my trunk I need to get my key out of the ignition to open it, this is very frustating .
Also my Air bag light is on now and I get the message airbag failure or something like that, when I talked to the guy that did the repairs (no VW dealer) he claims that is a complete different issue, but I think otherwise...

Any ideas?
