Its Alive

Just picked up an 87 Fiero last week, has not been run in a couple of years when the body was disassembled to be repainted. To make a long story short. I have to reassemble the body, the interior, and get the car out of retirement and running. Had to change the rotor, cap, wires, checked fluids, got ready to start. No gas. So I had to change out my fuel pump today, and finally it is running. It is really rough right now, and the leaves just about started on fire that have settled in the engine compartment over the last couple of years.. Tomorrow I am changing plugs, and oil tomorrow. next week starting on interior.

If anyone knows of a step by step for installing the interior that would be great. and It would be nice if someone had the location of where the warning chime module and cruise control module go.

Thanks,
Kris

Re: Its Alive

The alarm unit (blue dingy thing) plugs into a socket under the passenger side of the dash.

When replacing the plugs, be aware that most of the plugs have been in a long time and the plugs next to the fire wall (passenger cabin side) may be rusted in place. Use lots of penetrating oil and take your time.. that means don't force the issue and let the penetrating oil loosen the threads. It took me more that a week of just adding more oil and a little pressure to get the plugs out. If the plugs break off, you are looking at lots of time and money to remove the heads to get at the plugs.
